2021 Summer Reading Contest

2021 Summer Reading Contest

The past year gave many of us some new free time. With fewer meetings, sports games, playdates, and other social events, we turned to other forms of entertainment. We found comfort in movies, television, and, of course, books. Last year, reading was our escape but also our companion. And as with all good companions, the relationship must be nurtured and attention must be given. Things seem to be turning a corner this year with businesses reopening and social events happening, but let’s not forget to encourage our children to continue the practice of reading good books, not as an escape, but as a means to grow and discover new things.

It’s time again for our Summer Reading Contest. It begins now and continues through September 15, 2021. The first 100 participants receive a gift certificate at the end of the contest and a drawing will be held for three grand prize winners.

We only ask that you as parents or teachers verify what the children have read, and then, after they have met their goals, you can fill out this form to enter them in the contest! Please encourage them to read good literature, not just look for a book that meets the page count criteria. Click here to download a reading chart if you would like to track your student’s progress.
