Alabama CHOOSE Education Savings Account
Quick Facts

Arizona’s ESA program allows families to use state education funds
for a wide range of educational expenses, helping parents create a

Arkansas Educational Freedom Accounts (EFA) provide flexible financial assistance to families for at-home educational expenses. This program supports a personalized education path tailored to each student's needs.
Florida’s Tax Credit Scholarship Program (FTC) and Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO) help families customize their child’s K-12 education. Families apply through one universal application and are first accepted into FTC until funding is exhausted, after which eligible applicants are accepted into FES-EO. For families who select the Personalized Education Program (PEP) pathway, the programs function the same and funds may be used for approved educational expenses including curriculum, tutoring, therapies, virtual education programs, and other eligible services.
Florida’s Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) provides state-funded scholarships for K-12 students with documented disabilities, covering a broad range of approved educational expenses including tuition, therapies, curriculum, tutoring, technology, and other specialized services.

Georgia's Promise Scholarship Act is the state's first Education Savings Account program. This innovative ESA empowers families whose children are in Georgia's lowest-performing public schools to access around $6,500 per year in state education funds.
Missouri Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program (often called MOScholars) was established in 2021 to expand educational opportunities for students with special needs or from lower-income families. Tax credit funds are used by certain non-profit organizations to award scholarships to eligible students for personalized education.
North Carolina Education Student Accounts Plus (ESA+)

South Carolina's Education Scholarship Trust Fund (ESTF) program provides state-funded scholarships that allow eligible K-12 students to customize their education through approved expenses such as private school tuition, curriculum, tutoring, therapies, online learning programs, technology, testing fees, and other educational services.
Texas' Education Freedom Account (EFA) program provides state-funded scholarships that allow K-12 students to customize their education through approved expenses such as private school tuition, curriculum, tutoring, therapies, online learning programs, technology, testing fees, and other educational services. Only full enrollment in a private school or online school yields a 10k scholarship.
In August of 2024, the first Utah Fits All Scholarship funds were released to Utah families. From paying for private school and online education to learning therapy, Utahns will use these funds to customize their child's K-12 education.

West Virginia's Hope Scholarship gives families $5,267 per student per year. Administered by the State Treasurer's Office, the scholarship is managed through the EMA (Education Market Assistant) platform. Families can use funds for private school tuition, homeschool curriculum, therapies, tutoring, and more.
