  • Detailed lesson plans are not available for grades 7-12, although Teacher Manuals are still included where applicable.
  • The Teacher Manual will have guidance for how to schedule your week, but it is not as readily available as the lesson plans in the grammar years.

Frequently Asked Questions

    • It’s totally up to you. How many weeks of school do you want in the year? Divide lessons up based on that. Not every subject and grade has the same number of lessons, so be sure to look up each subject to see how many weeks there are. The courses were created to be completed in a traditional 9-month school year.

    • The goal is to finish the curriculum in one school year. If you feel the need to go slower or faster per your unique educational goals, that’s up to you! See Lesson Plans Information.

    • We designed this material to be completely covered. Each book was thoughtfully selected for a purpose, and you’ll find value in going over all of the books. However, if you want to skip a particular title or two as you consider your child’s best interests, that’s up to you!

    • It’s going to depend on the grade and the subject. But it’s best to focus on weeks, not days. Some days have more work than others. There’s a bit of ebb and flow with it. In general, it is a 5-day-a-week curriculum, but if you have a studious child, they may be able to do more than one lesson a day and have days off. It’s all up to you!
      See Lesson Plans Information.

The Grammar level often comes with Lesson Plans that will lay out what a day/week should look like. The Secondary level does not have Lesson Plans but, in some cases, has a Teacher’s Manual.

    • That’s up to you! If you enjoy reading aloud, go ahead. If your kids prefer to read it themselves, that’s great too.

    • Lesson Plans show parents how to teach the lesson, including what resources to use, how to use them, how to introduce each activity/reading to the student, and provide student activity suggestions.

Teacher Manuals give guidance on how to teach the subject along with materials needed for each day.

Teacher manuals vary per subject. Some of them are broken down into lessons that you follow, while others are simply a table of contents that allows you to set the pace for your student. Teacher Manuals have all the details you need to teach a course, but they are not laid out as simply as our lesson plans.

    • It really depends on each subject. A good rule of thumb is if it is in our kits, it is in our lesson plans. Anything you choose not to purchase means you will most likely have to modify the lessons.

    • Although you're welcome to teach multiple grade levels, our curriculum is designed to teach at each grade level. We don’t have special supplements to bring in multiple age levels for one subject.

    • Each of the books we publish has a slightly different policy regarding whether or not it can be photocopied. In general, non-consumable books (often full-color books) cannot be printed, and consumable books (often black and white) can. You’ll always be able to find this out by looking at the copyright page.

One copy can be made for each flashcard set purchased. For example, if two sets of flashcards are purchased, two copies can be made.

Regarding digital materials, consumables translate to digital files in the store account and are printable without a watermark, with copyright information allowing unlimited use in the homeschool.

Non-consumables translate to eBooks, which print with a large watermark across them. In general, they are non-reproducible.

    • Yes! You can learn right along with your student. Read the books and text and guide your student through the course. Some of the best education for your kids is by modeling learning to your kids!

    • The core content is the same, but the way it is covered is different. So the simple answer is yes, you can do the You-Teach version. Depending on the grade range, you may be able to do multiple students at the same level. But it's up to you and how your family is able to do school together!
