Lia Foster

Lia Foster

Lia Foster’s teaching career began as a public school educator after she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Hawai’i. During those first years of teaching, Lia earned her Master’s degree in education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. She has experience teaching a variety of subjects to students in age groups ranging from elementary to high school. After the blessing of becoming a mother, Lia has since stepped forward in faith and obedience to God’s call on her life to homeschool her three young daughters. It is through homeschooling her daughters that she was introduced to classical Christian education.

Lia’s passion is to cultivate the good, the true, and the beautiful in her students’ hearts. She finds great joy in getting to know her students and creating a learning environment that emulates the love of God. Lia considers it an honor and a joy to be a part of her students’ journey as they begin to discover and unfold who God has created them to be. The Lord placed the love of teaching in her heart at a very young age and she is very excited to share this love by serving the families of Veritas Scholars Academy.

Lia was saved by the grace of God at a church service while attending college. Her faith journey since has been filled with peaks and valleys, all of which has transformed her heart and taught her to place her trust and hope in the Lord alone. Lia lives on the island of Kaua’i, in Hawai’i, with her husband, three daughters, and their Labrador Retriever. She enjoys exercising, reading, spending time outdoors with family and friends, and ending the week with ‘Foster Five’ movie nights.
