Serving as an Academic Advisor for Veritas students and families brings Laura great joy. She considers the decision to partner with Veritas Scholars Academy for her own children’s education to be one of the best decisions her family has made. Laura loves being a mom to her two daughters and enjoys supporting them in local community theatre and in competitive gymnastics. Along with her husband, Laura and her family stay busy serving in various capacities in their local church and community. She earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Alabama and a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning and Counseling from the University of Missouri. She serves as an adjunct professor and has former experience serving as an academic advisor at the university level. Laura recognizes the decision to homeschool is not always an easy one for a family and that parents have many questions as they begin their homeschool journey. She understands the role an advisor plays in assisting families as they make decisions that can otherwise seem overwhelming. Laura desires to encourage and support new Veritas families as they join our Diploma Program and discover the countless blessings this classical Christian education has to offer. She considers it an honor to work with like-minded parents who prioritize educating their children to be well-rounded and effective communicators for Christ’s purposes, restoring culture for Christ one young heart and mind at a time.
