Kyle Dunham is an experienced teacher of more than twenty years, with a passion for learning and communicating truth to young people and adults of all ages. He earned the ThD degree in Old Testament from The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, CA, and the MDiv and ThM degrees in biblical studies from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary in Allen Park, MI. He completed his undergraduate degree at Clarks Summit University in northeastern PA. In the past he assisted with a church plant in Bakersfield, CA, and has taught various Bible studies and seminars in Michigan, Virginia, California, Kenya, and southeast Asia. He served as an associate pastor in upstate New York and as a short-term missionary in Ecuador. He has enjoyed interacting with young people over the years as a youth pastor, soccer coach, basketball coach, and Sunday School teacher. For the last nine years he has taught seminary students in Michigan, Virginia, and California. His favorite areas of study include biblical Hebrew, history from all periods and places, the kingdom of God, holy war, ancient Near Eastern literature, and biblical wisdom literature. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Society of Biblical Literature. In 2016 he published a book on the book of Job, comparing the lead counselor Eliphaz to other lead counselors in similar writings from the ancient Near East. He is currently writing a commentary on Ecclesiastes in the Evangelical Exegetical Commentary series and has written articles for academic journals. Kyle and his wife Judith live in Southgate, MI with their two daughters, who provide plenty of adventures. In their spare time they enjoy reading, biking, hiking in the mountains, exploring cities and downtowns, playing with the dog, and finding excellent coffee.
