Kelda Massey earned her Master’s in Education from Freed-Hardeman University in 2002. She has enjoyed teaching a variety of subjects over the past two decades including writing, literature, history, geography, and especially math because through it we learn the language of God's design. She strives to meet her students where they are academically and desires to help reluctant learners grow and develop confidence and a love for learning. As a lifelong learner, Kelda believes that good teachers should also be good students who challenge themselves to grow and develop professionally. She enjoys taking classes each summer in topics that pique her interest. Favorites include Songwriting, Bringing Joy to the Classroom, and The Life and Writings of C.S. Lewis. She is also an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Kelda delights in teaching at VSA and planning travel adventures with her husband and two sons. She is thankful for her life in Tennessee, which includes three rescue animals (two cats and a dog) who all hit the jackpot when they arrived on her doorstep. Her mornings usually start with a nice cup of coffee and time in God’s Word. Kelda finds great joy in inspiring children to learn and in leading them closer to God.
