Kayla Cannon discovered the delight of teaching grade-school as an environmental educator for Green Valleys Watershed Association’s summer programs. A life-long learner herself, she is inspired by the curiosity and enthusiasm her young students share with her. Kayla studied at Bryn Mawr College (Pennsylvania, USA) and the University of St Andrews (Fife, Scotland), where, alongside her work in ecology, she was captivated by Latin, Attic Greek, Italian, Scottish Gaelic, and the beauty of language overall. She complements her ecology research and language learning with creative writing, backpacking, and Scottish Country Dancing. Raised in a Christian family, Kayla knew of God’s grace in Jesus Christ from a young age. She accepted the gospel upon her own life when it became clear that she could not live perfectly through her own efforts. She now lives in Jesus’ perfection outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she is near her parents, six siblings, and enormous labrador retriever to visit them on the weekends.
