Jonathan Hoover has taught various levels of mathematics, but especially enjoys teaching Algebra. Math can be a long and difficult subject for many students, and it is his goal to make difficult concepts easy to understand so that students can thrive in this wonderful subject. Jonathan is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Kinston, NC and has three degrees in the fields of theology and philosophy. Jonathan was originally in school to become a math teacher before the Lord led him into full-time ministry, but he has always desired to return to the classroom to help students learn Algebra. He came to know Christ as a freshman in high school at a Christian summer camp in the mountains of northern Georgia. His hobbies include leading the Trail Life USA troop at his church, fishing, reading, backpacking, and spending time with family and friends. He is married to Margaret Hoover (another VSA teacher), and they have four wonderful children and three dogs.
