Born and raised in Southern California, Jennie was a Division I swimmer at the University of New Mexico, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Criminology. She later returned to school to pursue her California teaching credential at Cal State San Marcos. With over 20 years of teaching experience in both classroom and homeschool settings, she has had the privilege of teaching all grade levels, though her heart has been especially drawn to grades 3-7. She has also homeschooled her own children, which made her love for teaching more personal. She has first hand experience with the challenges and rewards of homeschooling.
Jennie is grateful the Lord led her to Veritas. It’s her joy to share both her love for Him and the gift of teaching He has given her. Teaching is deeply rewarding—especially those moments when a struggling student has a breakthrough. She also cherishes the special bond between teacher and student, and looks forward to walking alongside both student and parents in their homeschool journey.
When Jennie isn’t teaching, she enjoys event planning, spending quality time with friends and family, getting lost in a good book, watching a classic whodunnit mystery, or simply relaxing poolside at a resort.
She has been married to her husband, David, for 22 years. Their daughter Halie is attending Vanguard University, where she is pursuing a degree in Worship Arts, and their younger daughter, Brooke, will be attending MiraCosta College to study photography. A devoted dog lover, Jennie often dreams of having a farm just for dogs. Her lab mix, Bear, is the beloved and thoroughly spoiled member of the family—and she’s looking forward to welcoming another furry friend soon.
