Haley Shead

Since a young age, Haley Shead has felt God’s call on her life to serve others. Educationally, she has a Master of Science in Nursing. After working as an emergency/ICU nurse, and then a family nurse practitioner, she took off her nursing cap in order to homeschool her children. In 2007, she began learning all she could about classical Christian education and introduced Veritas Press self-paced courses as part of her children’s grammar stage. Working with local homeschool communities, she has encouraged a number of parents with their homeschooling and helped families by tutoring their children. Her oldest child joined the Veritas Scholars Academy Diploma Program in 2020. Since this time, the Shead family has fallen in love with the Veritas community and has been blessed by the relationships they have formed. Haley’s favorite thing is to spend time with her husband, daughter, and son. The Sheads’ home in rural Kansas currently includes chickens, cats, and a dog. They have spent many years traveling for work and have seized opportunities to learn in new places. They enjoy exploring new things together, whether it be a book, hiking trail, subway system, or museum.
