Dr. Rachel Keller has extensive teaching experience at the college level, secondary level, and internationally. After completing a two-year Peace Corps Volunteer service term in Cape Verde, West Africa, she and her husband moved to Utah, where she teaches as a tenured Professor of English. She enjoys teaching a variety of composition, literature, and honors courses. She is excited to teach at Veritas!
Dr. Keller graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico, specializing in modern American literature, composition, and secondary education. She passed comprehensive exams with distinction in poetry, modern American literature, and 19th century American literature.
In addition to her love of teaching, Dr. Keller also enjoys competing! She runs, bikes, and swims, often competing in triathlons. She hopes to one day complete a full Iron Woman. Her favorite sport is swimming, and she coaches a local high school swim team.
Answering the call of Christ, Dr. Keller submitted to Jesus as her Savior at 14 years old. God has continued to sanctify her through her educational journey, teaching, missionary ministries, her family, and more. She believes God is most glorified when she is most satisfied in Him.
God has blessed her with a loving and hard-working husband, Lamar. They have two children, Townes and Maggie. They happily live on 8 acres in the mountains, enjoying God’s beautiful creation!
