Brenda is a Customer Service Representative with Veritas Press who enjoys encouraging homeschool families on their journey, as well as problem solving to help things run more smoothly.
Born and raised in a Pastor’s home, Brenda grew up in California and Hawaii. After graduating with a B.A. in Sociology from Point Loma Nazarene University and an M.A. in Psychology from National University, Brenda spent 25 years working with at-risk youth and foster children. After marrying the love of her life, she and her husband moved to North Idaho and ran a nonprofit organization, finding adoptive homes for children in foster care who were labeled “unadoptable.” They were also foster parents to a total of 13 children. They now focus exclusively on their 3 children – 2 daughters who were adopted separately from foster care and a son by birth. Brenda has been homeschooling since 2009, after their first adoption, and has successfully graduated one child, while continuing the journey with the youngest two kids.
Brenda now lives in Southern Utah, just an hour away from Zion National Park. Brenda is an avid gardener and a homesteader at heart. She loves going on road trips with her family, or being outdoors – hiking, biking, camping. When she is not outside, she is usually curled up with a good book. She jokes that the only thing longer than the list of places she wants to visit is the list of books she wants to read!
