April Jones has over twenty-five years of experience in teaching and tutoring in a variety of settings in K-12th grade through private, public, catholic, classical Christian schools, and homeschooling her daughters. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education: K-8, which she used for fulfilling her love to teach in the middle school grade levels, specifically in math. Besides teaching math full-time, April has also taught middle school history and science, high school personal finance/life skills and digital publications, and also served as a math specialist for K-8th grade students.
April grew up in a Christian home, attending a Christian school from her grammar to high school years. Seeing the fruits of her family, teachers, and friends in the Christian community around her led April to commit herself to follow the will of the Lord for her life at the age of fifteen. She has used the talents God has given her for teaching to glorify Him. She served in either Christian education or church leadership for over 25 years. She is a mom of three daughters: Meghan who graduated from Lipscomb University with a degree in Animation: 3D Modeling, Ayla is entering her senior year at VSA and loves to be either on the theater stage acting and singing or on a soccer field, and Holly is entering 9th grade also at VSA with a passion and talent for art. When they have time they are usually in the kitchen cooking/baking or traveling anytime they can, finding unique places, especially bakeries, to visit. April truly enjoys teaching and finds the greatest joy in seeing a child’s face light up with enthusiasm while learning!
