Amy Dunlap began her teaching career at Esperanza Academy Charter High School in 2007 and spent nearly seven years there teaching 9th and 10th graders in inner-city Philadelphia. In 2014, she shifted into teaching at Cairn University, her alma mater, in their English department and continues there on faculty. She received a B.S. in Secondary English Education and B.S. in Bible from Cairn U. as well as an M.A. in English from West Chester University and certification from the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project in 2013. Mrs. Dunlap grew up as a pastor’s daughter in a Christian home and has spent her life growing in her knowledge and relationship with the Lord. She resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia with a house full of red heads, including her husband, three children, and even a fox red Labrador retriever. Mrs. Dunlap enjoys challenging hikes and has scaled the heights of Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and Choquequirao in Peru, Petra in Jordan, the Colorado Rockies, and many local hikes in PA. She loves discussing literature and Scripture. She has a passion for leading women’s Bible studies and worship team at her local church. Mrs. Dunlap continually seeks to equip students with a biblical lens to interact with the world through the disciplines of reading and writing.
