Note that “Build Soil is on pages 421–430 of this e-book, but you need to look at the page numbers at the bottom of the page rather than the page numbers of the electronic document. In the electronic document, it is on pages 437–446.
Veritas Press is no longer able to provide the audio CD for Saint Matthew Passion. Fortunately, the work has been performed and recorded widely, and you will have no trouble finding numerous high-quality recordings on the major online music services. Students will still need access to the libretto (text) of the piece, and we provide some options below.
The Veritas Press Omnibus V chapter uses the Bach Works Catalog (BWV) numbering system for the movements, numbering them from one to 78.
Go to https://vpress.us/2NkC8EB for a parallel text and English translation that uses the BWV system, consistent with the Omnibus chapter and The Bach Choir CD (Decca, 2006).
You may find recordings that number the movements from one to 68, using the New Bach Edition (NBA) system.
The following site provides parallel text and translation using the NBA numbering system (and the BWV number in brackets): http://www.bach-cantatas.com/Texts/BWV244-Eng3P.htm
(This article describes the two different systems and also provides a cross-reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Matthew_Passion_structure .)
