This extraordinary trip will be led by pastor, Sam Andreades, who has spent extensive time not only studying and teaching Scripture, but also studying and traveling in Israel. He'll be joined by Headmaster Dr. Bob Cannon and Dean of Students, who have worked together to plan this once in a lifetime experience. Join us and several of our amazing teachers as we together explore the land where much of Scripture took place, and our Savior came to in the fullness of time!

The Veritas British Isles Tour
The VSA British Isles in the summer of 2019 was an Anglophile's dream come true! Almost 50 students, parents, and faculty traveled throughout England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland for 17 days. Students were able to walk on Hadrian's Wall (at one point the furthest reaches of the Roman Empire) and we walked among the ruins of Wearmouth-Jarrow where Bede wrote his seminal text the Ecclesiastical History of the English People. Students enjoyed exploring the ruins and castle on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne where St. Aidan founded his monastery, made precious and rare copies of Scripture, and sent out Christian missionaries before the Vikings destroyed it in 793. We stood on the Hastings battlefield where England's history was decisively decided in 1066 and marveled to recognize such a profound turning point in the destiny of a nation, its culture, and its language.
Students will not soon forget the view over London from the top of the London Eye and perhaps joined me in thinking in Shakespeare's words: "The wheel is come full circle: I am here."

500-year Reformation Tour
500-year anniversaries only come around once every 500 years or so. In 1517, Dr. Martin Luther hammered his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany – an event used of God to awaken the church and transform the Western world. VSA marked this historic anniversary with a trip to many key Reformation sites in Germany, France, and Switzerland. We visited the Wittenberg Door, toured through Luther’s home, saw where he was “imprisoned” in the Wartberg and where he translated the New Testament from Greek to German in lightening speed. In addition to places related to Luther, we visited sites in Europe made famous by other Reformers like Jan Hus, Ulrich Zwingli, and John Calvin. Starting in Berlin and ending in Geneva, our group spent eleven days together with many VSA faculty knowledgeable in Reformation history to explore the many exciting facets of our Christian past.

Tour Through Omnibus
VSA's very first field trip was to Italy and Greece. Given our affinity for history, literature, and theology (which we affectionately call Omnibus), it was a natural endeavor for us to tour significant sites like the Colosseum, the Areopagus, and the Vatican. Students and family members acted out parts of Julius Caesar, recounted the story of the Oracle at Delphi, and enjoyed reflections on the book of Corinthians (in Corinth, of course). We enjoyed the incredible experience of walking in the very footsteps of those that went before us in so many of these historic locations. We drank from the well of learning, growing and stretching our understanding of the history and culture of Italy and Greece. We might have enjoyed some gelato and affogato with the locals as well. The best part? No one will ever forget the unique fellowship members of the VSA community enjoyed together in these distant lands.
