Klara Chowdhury began her teaching adventures in a third-grade classroom in Atlanta. Two years of fighting traffic left her pining for the hills of her childhood, and she took a year to tutor her younger brother and work on the family farm in Upstate New York. As she began searching for another teaching position in early 2020, a friend reminded her that “God has a way of closing the doors He needs to.” Cue Covid and every school on her list closing, except one in Idaho.
Klara went on to spend six years in Fruitland, Idaho, teaching a variety of subjects, including 9th grade composition, 8th grade literature, 7-8th grade grammar, K-6 art, and K-3 music. Her Liberal Arts education at Hillsdale College equipped her not only with a Bachelor’s degree in English, but also with a deep appreciation for how disciplines are interconnected.
Klara is grateful to have known the love of her Savior as long as she can remember. He truly is the Good Shepherd. Through God’s perfect leading, Klara met her husband at his food truck when she was on a ten-minute lunch break. Since then, the food truck has grown into a restaurant. In her free time, Klara enjoys sampling the latest menu creations and growing herbs for her husband to use in his culinary masterpieces. In their free-time they spend hours laughing together over the antics of Luna, their Shiba Inu puppy.
