Dr. Tara Jernigan

Dr. Tara Jernigan is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She has lived in the Pittsburgh region since 1996. Married to Richard since 1995, she is the mother of three boys, all of whom have been homeschooled with classes from Veritas Scholars' Academy. She is interested in narrative, multi-sensory, and relational models of instruction and is always enthusiastic to make the world her classroom!Dr. Jernigan has a background in theology, with a B.A. in Religious Studies from Grinnell College. She also holds a M.A.R. in Biblical Studies from Trinity School for Ministry and her D. Min. is in Biblical Exposition from Nashotah House Theological Seminary. Dr. Jernigan also holds TESOL certification and is engaged in a number of theological writing and teaching projects. She is passionate about catechesis, first and second language acquisition, French, Biblical languages and Scripture, and is currently learning Spanish just for the fun of it. She also enjoys travel (48 US states, nine foreign countries on three continents), cooking a variety of cuisines, and Korean and European history. After Jesus and her family, nothing makes her happier than a good book, home-roasted coffee and a well crafted fountain pen.
