Ruth DeUnger is a lifelong learner and lover of all things mathematics. Ruth is saved by the Grace of God and has had a relationship with Christ from an early age. Being called by God to serve, she knew when she was still a child that she wanted to study math and to be a teacher. Ruth earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. After graduation, she taught math at a public high school in North Carolina, but resigned from that position to live the life of a military family, moving eight times to six different states within a 13-year time span. She has had a wide variety of teaching experiences that have included college and adult learners as well as homeschoolers in a Classical Christian setting. Now permanently settled back in North Carolina, she is focused once again on her teaching career whilst homeschooling her three children: Drew, Matthew, and Reese. Ruth lives in Lillington, NC where she attends church, loves to cook and garden, and is a flourishing tenor drummer in a Scottish bagpipe band. She began utilizing the Classical Christian approach in her home in 2012 and, believing this is truly the best method for education, she is very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of VSA!
