Rebekah Henwood

Rebekah Henwood

Rebekah Henwood is a homeschooling mother who is passionate about classical education and encouraging other families in their homeschool journeys. Rebekah earned a B.A. in English from Cedarville University and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. Rebekah grew up in a Christian home in Virginia and has known the Lord as her Savior from a young age. She has been married to her husband Cory, a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, for 18 years. They have two children, Katelyn and Jackson, who are both students at VSA. She is grateful for the opportunities military life has afforded her family and is proud to be a military wife. The Henwoods have lived all over the U.S., with Hawaii being their most memorable assignment, but consider their current location of San Antonio, Texas, to be “home.”

Rebekah has taught a plethora of subjects in classical homeschool circles. She believes education is a tool through which we learn God’s truth, equip ourselves to defend that truth, with the goal of glorifying God in all we do. She most enjoys the beautiful discussions cultivated through analyzing literary works, learning about God’s sovereignty through the study of history, teaching students to master the art of persuasion through writing, and trying to convince her students that diagramming sentences really is a fun, free-time activity!

Rebekah enjoys traveling with her family around the world. All four Henwoods enjoy history, particularly military history, and spend their family vacations visiting historic sites. Rebekah spent a decade teaching fitness classes and personal training, and continues to be active through weightlifting, Crossfit and running. She also enjoys hiking with her family, reading books on theology and apologetics, serving and fellowshipping with her church family, watching her kids’ sporting events, and drinking coffee while cuddling with her 85-pound Bernedoodle, Boeing, who never leaves her side.
