Malinda Harrell

Malinda has over 18 years of experience in education, with a background as both a reading specialist and a general education teacher. For the past three years, she has been honored to teach at Veritas Scholars Academy, where she instructs students in Literature 3, Grammar and Writing 3, 4, and 5, and Linguistics 4. Through the classical Christian model, she encourages her students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage deeply with great ideas—skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.

She holds a Master of Education in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Arizona Christian University. While these degrees provided a strong academic foundation, it is the classical Christian approach to teaching that truly shapes her philosophy. She believes education should nurture both the mind and heart, grounded in biblical truth. Her goal is to create an environment where students are empowered to explore, grow, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Outside the classroom, Malinda enjoys reading, running, spending time with her family, and traveling. These hobbies help her stay energized and bring a sense of wonder and curiosity to the world around her.

A Christian since high school, Malinda is deeply thankful for the transformative impact the gospel has had on her life. Her faith shapes everything she does, and she feels blessed to teach in a school that integrates faith and learning so meaningfully.

She lives in Arizona with her husband, whom she met at church. They are empty nesters with four grown children who were homeschooled using Veritas Press materials. Their homeschool journey was a rewarding experience, and Malinda is excited to now partner with other homeschooling families through Veritas Scholars Academy. They also share their home with a golden doodle named Theo, who brings joy and laughter to their lives.
