Lauren Patrick is a second-generation teacher who is passionate about all things having to do with children and the way God designed each and every child. Watching her mom teach Mother’s Day Out since as long as she can remember, she gained this love early on. She began her career as a high school English and Journalism teacher in 2006. She taught in the public school system until 2011 when she was then blessed with becoming a mother. Taking six years off to be a mom to now three children, she found herself longing to be back in the classroom and was given the opportunity to teach 3rd grade at a classical Christian school that her home church started. In 2021, she felt the call to take teaching to their home, where she has been homeschooling their children ever since. Missing the classroom, she found herself teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School whenever possible, as well as leading Women’s Bible Study at their church. Teaching is a passion the Lord has given, so using that gift has been important to her.
Lauren has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2016 she wrote a children’s book, Helping Daddy Ray on the Farm, which is a fun story about her daughter and father-in-law working on their family’s farm and ranch operation. Lauren and her husband live on a working farm raising corn, cotton, and grain sorghum, as well as ranching with cattle and show pigs. She enjoys spending time with her family in any capacity possible, but especially watching the boys play baseball and all three of her children with their show pigs at their many livestock events. Lauren accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young girl, and after getting married and moving to River Hills Baptist Church, began to more fully understand the finished work of Christ on the cross. Lauren enjoys learning more about her Savior and teaching others, whether young or old, about the love He has for his children. Having Christ-centered conversations over coffee or randomly in the baseball stands warms her heart to the core!
