Jonathan	Tay

Jonathan Tay

Jonathan Tay has been following his calling as a teacher in Western Australia for over a decade, working with students in grades 7 through 12 in settings ranging from public schools to a private boys’ school. His main teaching areas and academic interests are History and Philosophy, though he has also taught English and Indonesian as second languages. During his undergraduate studies, Jonathan majored in History and Anthropology, eventually completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology.

Outside of teaching, he enjoys reading, writing stories and poetry, singing, and dabbling in photography—but what brings him the most joy is spending time with his young children. Jonathan grew up in a largely Christian household but did not truly understand what it meant to follow Christ until he moved to Australia at the age of fifteen. After feeling directionless following his parents’ separation, his heavenly Father gave him a deep sense of purpose that has shaped his life ever since. He is now married to Lan, a wonderful wife and dental nurse, and together they are raising their two children, Thomas and Charis, in a cozy townhouse in Perth, Western Australia—alongside their two cats.
