Jacob Tanner

Jacob Tanner

Jacob Tanner is the pastor of Christ Keystone Church. Over the years, he has taught within Christian schools, and has also served as an administrator and principal. He helps to host several podcasts, has served various ministries over the years, especially through writing and preaching at different conferences and events, and has worked in the realm of apologetics for several years. Some of his published books include Resist Tyrants, Obey God: Lessons Learned from the Life and Times of John Knox (Founders Press, 2025) and Wait and Hope: Puritan Wisdom for Joyful Suffering (Reformation Heritage Books, 2024). He is passionate about helping others to cultivate a Christian worldview so that they may seek to glorify and enjoy God in all they do.

Jacob holds a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from Spurgeon College, and a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently working on his Ph.D. He is a life-long learner, and loves studying theology, apologetics, philosophy, literature, and history. As a pastor, he also enjoys the art of rhetoric and sermon preparation. When he’s not reading or writing, he’s with his family, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two boys.

While Jacob believes he was saved at a very young age, he grew up in a nominally religious home. It was not until his teen years that he discovered a genuine love for the Bible and theology. He was introduced to Protestantism through the writings of the Reformers and the Puritans. Ever since, he has loved to preach and teach God’s Word, to disciple the saints, and to seek to evangelize others. His mission is simply this: Reform (the church), Rebuild (Christian community), and Reclaim (culture for Christ).

He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, Kayla, and two sons, Josiah and Owen.
