Fiona Wilcox

Drawing from over ten years of experience as a Veritas parent, Fiona Wilcox looks forward to working with your family to help you chart a successful course of study that will meet your children’s goals. Having worked in a variety of publishing houses in London, at the Smithsonian Institution, and as an English teacher in Peru, Fiona has a passion for books and learning that she hopes will inspire her students. After finding the Veritas curriculum in 2008, Fiona and her husband, John, moved their son and daughter from a small brick and mortar school to homeschooling with Veritas. With her son graduating from the Diploma Program with honors in 2021, and her daughter scheduled to graduate in 2023 with highest honors, Fiona has seen firsthand the fruits of classical Christian education, and is excited to help your family reap its rewards.

Growing up in rural England, Fiona was introduced to the fields and woodlands by her father, and she still enjoys gardening and spending time in nature with her family. In 1989, she earned her BA (Honors) in English and History from King Alfred’s College in Winchester, England. After marrying her Californian husband, John, she moved to Lima, Peru in 1998, where she used her University of Cambridge English language teaching certificate to set up a school teaching English to professionals in Lima. In 2009, she and her family moved to a colonial era farmhouse in rural Maryland, where they run an Airbnb cottage, enjoy a large vegetable garden, and raise their own flock of free-range chickens.
