Lizzy Prentice brings a wealth of teaching experience to her students, both in live settings across Cambridge and her home county, and internationally through online platforms. Having fallen in love with Classical education and witnessed its transformative power in the lives of her own children, Lizzy is passionate about cultivating curiosity and nurturing deep Christian character.
She believes that the grammar years are a crucial time for laying strong foundations. These early stages equip students with the tools they need to understand, negotiate, and explore the world as it opens before them. It is one of her greatest joys to guide young writers as they come to grips with the structure of writing, explore the vast possibilities of the English language, and develop their own unique style and voice—whether they are the keenest of writers or the most hesitant and reluctant.
As a homeschooling mother of four sons—two of whom are graduates of the (VSA Diploma program—Lizzy has seen first-hand how the pursuit of excellence, paired with the rigor of a Veritas Press education, fosters both diligence and wonder. These are qualities that she believes will serve students well throughout their lives.
Lizzy holds an Honours degree in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Manchester. Her understanding of the world as "logo-centric" has cultivated a deep appreciation for the written and spoken word as powerful means by which we come to know the Lord—and make Him known.
As first-generation Christians, Lizzy and her husband are profoundly aware of the grace they have received through Jesus Christ. All four of their sons are walking with the Lord, and they are excited by the heritage being laid in their family.
Lizzy was born and raised in the beautiful countryside of the East of England, nestled between historic sites where Vikings once landed and where Boudica, Queen of the Iceni tribe, led her rebellion against Roman rule. She would love to say life is quieter these days—but raising four energetic sons and supporting her pastor husband keeps things lively!
When not teaching or serving at church, Lizzy enjoys reading widely, walking the dramatic coastlines of her beloved island, and exploring artisan coffee shops—especially if they come with a bookshop attached.
