Heather Tutuska

Heather Tutuska has been teaching online for several years, and previously taught literature for a Canadian classical Christian online school where she first learned what a delight it is to teach students in homeschooling families. She took her first Latin class in middle school, going on to major in Classical Philology at the University of Dallas and then earn a Master of Humanities degree from the same institution. Her favorite things to read in Latin are Cicero’s letters and lyric poetry. Her favorite thing to read in Greek is Homer. She believes that Latin instruction is important because Latin is beautiful, because there are interesting and important things to read in it, and because there is no better way to further your own understanding of English (and grammar and language as a whole) than to learn Latin. Outside the classroom, Mrs. Tutuska reads a lot of books, bakes a lot of bread, and takes a lot of walks. She is active in her church, serving on the vestry and helping with ministry to the church’s sick and shut-in members, and she loves the Psalms. She lives in a suburb of Dallas, Texas, with her husband (also a teacher) and her small son, who loves heroes and trucks.
