Emily Humphreys has been teaching classically for 15 years. She began learning about classical education during her college years at Oklahoma Baptist University. She graduated from OBU in 2000 with a Bachelors of Arts in Christian Studies/Missions and Family Development. Emily married her husband Micah after working as summer camp counselors together at a Christian camp in the Ozarks. She has always loved working with and teaching children, especially her own three children at home. Besides homeschooling, Emily (along with friends) founded, led, and taught at Cedar Grove, a homeschool cooperative in Powell, WY, where they lived for eleven years. It was the flagship cooperative in the small rural town located near Yellowstone. She also taught at a classical university model school after their move to the St. Louis, Missouri, area. She is excited to continue sharing her love of Latin with children through Veritas Academy as she and her family move to The College of the Ozarks in southwestern Missouri. Emily loves traveling, meeting new people, kayaking, cross-country skiing, painting, hosting people in her home, serving her church family, and reading. Emily responded to the Lord’s work in her life at a young age, trusting in Christ alone for her salvation. She daily seeks the Holy Spirit’s grace to grow in personal sanctification and love for God. Her greatest calling and joy has been to serve her family and lead her own children, Anabelle, Deacon, and Shepherd, to the Lord. She also loves sharing God’s love and truth with her students and helping them to grow in their faith.
