Math-U-See is a systematic, cumulative approach to teaching math that helps students master material using a definite, logical sequence of concept instruction. The Math-U-See Zeta Universal Set contains everything you need for a successful experience with this level:
Zeta extends your student's concept of place value to the right of the decimal point and presents the connection between fractions and decimals. Completing core operations with decimals is the theme of the course. Major concepts and skills include expanding understanding of place value from positive powers of 10 to include decimals; fluently adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing multiple digit decimals using place value strategies; solving real-world problems with decimals and percentages; and understanding the metric system and converting from one unit of measure to another. Some of the other topics your student will explore include exponents, negative numbers, ratios, plane geometry, and simplifying and evaluating algebraic expressions.
The Math-U-See system is structured with step-by-step procedures for introducing, reviewing, practicing, and mastering concepts. Each lesson teaches using multisensory tools such as videos, manipulatives, and other resources, all designed to appeal to any type of learner. With all these resources, you can adapt the program to your student's homeschool style.
