To seize control of West Berlin in 1948, Soviet leader Josef Stalin blockaded all incoming routes and cut off all food. Without outside help, the people would starve. Thus began the Berlin Airlift. This is the true story of a seven-year-old girl and the American pilot who came to be known as the "chocolate pilot," for the candy that he dropped from his airplane. "Without hope the soul dies."
